About Feesable

Background

At the beginning of 2001 discussions were initiated between the UK, Gard, Steamship, Standard and Britannia Clubs in order to see if there was any interest in working together on a project that aimed to develop a common system for the electronic submission of third party invoices via the internet. As a result of the very positive feedback a project team was formed in order to develop the idea further.

The project group, reporting to a newly formed International Group IT sub committee, identified two distinct stages of project. Firstly to design and identify the content of a standard invoice or fee note. Secondly to design and develop an electronic delivery system.

Development of Feesable so far...

The design of the standard invoice was completed in Q2 2002; a small group of correspondents assisted with this.

A software solution was developed in 2003 and piloted by a wider group of correspondents. The service was eventually launched in Q2 2004. The UK P&I Club and Gard requested all their correspondents to start using the using system by end of 2004. Article published in Lloyds List 16th September 2004

So far a total of 9 Clubs are receiving invoices electronically.
