Frequently Asked Questions about the Feesable service

What is Feesable?

Feesable is an invoice standard for all P&I Clubs that can be delivered electronically.

What is electronic delivery?

Rather than printing out the invoice and sending in the post or as a fax it can be sent in electronic form.

What are the benefits of Feesable?
  1. Simplicity - One standard for all Clubs regardless of the location of the Club or correspondent
  2. Powerful standard - covers the full range of Group correspondent fees and disbursements.
  3. Efficiency - Encourages greater accuracy and consistency through streamlining the administrative effort.
  4. Quality - Better quality information will aid processing and improve efficiency.
  5. Speed of delivery - Fees will be received within seconds.
  6. Access - Invoices can be raised whenever and where ever you have access to a PC.
  7. Paperless - Submit invoices direct from the offline software.
  8. Cost - This is difficult to quantify and depends on your implementation. Any improvement in efficiency should yield cost savings.
Who can use Feesable?

Potentially anyone who supplies a service to any IG P&I Club. Feesable is being offered to Club Correspondents first but in due course the service will be offered to lawyers, surveyors and other suppliers.

How do I register for Feesable?

You need to be a supplier to one of the participating P&I Clubs. Registration only takes a few moments of your time. For more information please see our Registration page.

What investment is required?

Feesable is offered free of charge and requires minimal investment in terms of time for familarisation with a simple and intuitive offline software tool and internet connection charges.

Will there be any additional costs?

No additional costs are anticipated for Feesable in the near future. The elecronic version requires standard internet connection i.e telephone dial up, ISDN, Cable modem etc. Some users may wish to integrate Feesable with their existing software. The project is wholly funded by the International Group of P&I Clubs.

How secure is Feesable?

The electronic delivery service is internet based and therefore exposed to the regular security risks but still deemed more secure than the postal service. Only the sender and intended receiver can see invoices. Please note Feesable is NOT an electronic payments system and therefore the risk of a Club paying a fraudulent invoice remains the same as today with paper invoices.

Can I retrieve an invoice sent in error?

No. You need to contact the Club and advise them of the error.

Can I receive invoices from my sub offices or subcontractors via Feesable?

No. Invoices can only be sent directly to the Club's electronic post box. It is recognised that some correspondents with several offices prefer to have invoices processed and approved by one office. Depending on feedback received a change may be made in the future. In the meantime sub offices can send invoices by email. The receiver can move the invoice into their version of Feesable and send to the Club in the usual way. For more information on this please click here..

What should I be doing now?

All Correspondents should register to use the service to create Feesable invoices. Invoices should be sent electronically to those Clubs who will accept them otherwise they should be sent in paper format in the usual way. Each Club will advise you what to do with supporting documentation
